Hey👋
I'm Dane, the developer behind dypt. I'm a lifelong nerd and a chartered accountant turned full-time dev.
I'm from the UK and a husband to my amazing wife, Eve, and a proud father to our energetic toddler, Orson. We have a hyper but lovable golden labradoodle, Rufford, who keeps our lives full of joy and fur!
I've been obsessed with technology and computers since I was six, and the joy of coding software since not long after. Always tinkering, always learning, always delighted by the endless possibilities I could create.
I've had a career as a chartered accountant, but could never escape my passion for tech. So, I took the leap and became a full-time developer. It's been an exciting journey, one which has gifted me a wider perspective and a pretty unique combination of skills.
Dreaming up dypt 💭
dypt was born from my own struggles with managing tasks. First, as a busy senior leader, and latterly as a startup founder and father.
I craved a solution that was intuitive, fast, and truly helpful. I hated when I needed to break tasks down repeatedly but couldn't. I desperately wanted a way to easily create the task structures that made sense for me and my life.
Existing task managers were either too complicated, too expensive or lacked the features I needed.
So I started building the tool I'd been dreaming of. Initially entirely for myself and family. But as I shared it with friends and colleagues, I realised that I wasn't alone in my struggles.
And so, dypt was born. It's become a labour of love, a project that I'm incredibly proud of, and one that I'm excited to share with you.
Why dypt❔
At its core, dypt is a task manager. One that helps you organise your life, work, and projects, so you can reclaim your time and focus on what matters most.
It knows what it is and what it isn't. It's not trying to be everything to everyone, but it is trying to be the best at what it does.
It has features that help not hinder, it's intuitive, fast and affordable.
dypt is built on top of the latest technologies, including AI, but AI isn't 'the thing'. It's a tool in your belt to help you when it makes sense, not to replace you. It's there to make your life easier, and allow you to find some serenity in the chaos of modern life.
What sets dypt apart is the singular focus on solving the pain points of juggling endless tasks. Helping you survive and thrive in a world of information overload.
There are free and paid plans, so you can choose the one that suits you best.
You've nothing to lose and lots to gain, so why not give it a try?
Looking ahead 🔮
dypt has just turned one and I'm only just getting started!
The roadmap includes lots of useful features that I can’t wait to share with you.
I post regular updates on the dypt blog and changelog to keep you up to date.
I'm truly committed to continuously improving dypt and making it the best task manager out there.
