Stay on top of your tasks with notifications

We've yet another exciting update to ramp up your productivity. Introducing notifications and reminders!

What are dypt notifications?

πŸ–ΌοΈ Picture this: you've got a bunch of tasks lined up, but the day gets hectic and, alas, some tasks slip through the cracks. We've all been there!

With our new reminders feature, you'll get gentle nudges for your tasks directly on all the devices you use.

You can set up to three reminders for each task leading up to the deadline. Say you've got a task due in 10 days at 10 am. You can set a reminder an hour, day and week before. That way, you'll have ample time to get your ducks in a row and complete the task on time.

What devices and browsers are supported?

Notifications work on all major browsers and devices. We've tested on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. It works on both desktop and mobile.

There are a few caveats:

  • If you're using Apple iOS (e.g. iPhone, iPad), notifications are only supported on iOS 16.4+ and you need to install dypt to your home screen. To do so, open dypt in Safari, tap the share icon, and then tap "Add to Home Screen".
  • If you're using dypt on a computer, notifications are only sent whilst the browser is open (but you don't have to have the dypt tab open specifically).
  • You can also install dypt on your computer for a native app like experience by opening dypt in Safari on Mac OS or in Edge on Windows 11 and pressing install. Doing so will allow you to receive notifications even when the browser or app is closed.
  • Notifications are not supported on the Brave browser or in any browser in incognito mode as these explicitly block notifications.

How does it work?

πŸ€– Once you've logged in, a prompt will pop up at the top of the screen inviting you to enable notifications. Press "Enable" and then your browser will ask for permission to send you notifications - click "Allow" and you're all set!

You'll receive a welcome notification within a few minutes to confirm it's working and to mark the beginning of a more organized you!

How do I set reminders for a task?

Setting reminders for your tasks is a cinch. Open the deadline picker for the task and select a deadline. If you've enabled notifications, you'll see an "Add reminder" button which will let you set up to three reminders for each task. Just select how long before the deadline you'd like to be reminded and press "Save".

At the time of your reminder, you'll receive a notification on your device. Clicking on the notification will take you straight to the task in dypt.

You can come back to the deadline picker at any time to edit or remove your reminders. After a reminder has been sent, you'll see "Sent" in green text next to it. You can delete any future reminders by pressing the cross icon and then pressing "Save".

What if I don't see the "Add reminder" button?

If you don't have notifications enabled, you'll see a message prompting you to enable them instead of the "Add reminder" button. Just beneath the message, you'll see an "Enable notifications" button which will trigger the notification prompt again for your browser. Once you've enabled notifications, the "Add reminders" button will appear.

Stay in the know

Besides reminders, we'll keep you updated with our latest features and interesting articles. Don't worry, these will be few and far between - we promise to never bombard you.

How do I disable notifications?

If you'd like to disable notifications, you can do so in your browser settings. Here's how to do it in Chrome as an example:

  1. Click the button to the left of the address bar (it will either be a lock or an "i" in a circle).
  2. Next to "Notifications", select "Reset permission"

We'll also be adding a button to disable notifications in dypt directly soon.
